Motorola V525 Tips & Tricks

You cannot use regular phone or cable software to install new Java games/applications on your v525.

Using Midway, you'll also need Windows XP SP1. I'v herd people have had big problems trying to use it on other OS so i would try it on an XP machine if i where you.

Go into your phones java settings, set a short cut for "Java System" by highlighting it and holding the menu in and then selecting the number u want the shortcut to be . Go back to the home screen press the menu key and then the number. It will say insert cable! You can now plug your USB cable into the phone.

Next, on your computer go to Control panel, and double click on System, then get into device manager, and find the "Motorola USB Modem", and click the 'Modem' tab. At the very top, it should say "Port: COMx". Where x is a number (on mine its 6). Remember this.

Now, load up Midway. Next click File > Settings in midway. Where it says Com Port, select the com port we just noted down.

Now you can choose the game to upload. Click File > Open JAD.. Select the jad file and click open.

Now, use your shortcut on the phone to activate 'Java App Loader'. It'll then say "Insert cable now", if its still plugged in, unplug it, then stick it back in again.

Next, in Midway select File > 'Send JAD'

Your phone should vibrate or somthing. It'll ask to Accept or Decline the file (on the phone), it will now upload/download the java applet/game/whatever to your phone and install it.
